Cybersecurity in the Age of Digital Treasuries

Strategy and Business Partnering

Cybersecurity continues to be an important issue for all organisations irrespective of size, sector or geographic location; with majority of the target victims being financial services or business units managing financial flows for organisations.

Over the years cyber criminals have learned to organize themselves better, making use of both technical and non-technical techniques with their efforts driven by a range of motivations from stealing/crime to espionage.

Whilst organisations are unable to influence the capabilities or motivations of cyber-criminals, they can invest in ensuring their defence against such incidents is stronger and more effective by not just relying on technology, but also securing their people and processes.

This session offers insight into some of the best practices used at Citi to protect, detect and respond to cyber incidents.

3rd Party Data Burns

Data-Loss via 3rd party data-breaches is a subject that most have a little time for, yet the impact of what has been lost in recent years is yet to be fully understood. From work related emails, to corporate passwords, its all out there. Billions and billions of individual pieces of data are floating around the Internet, none of them really have any value individually but when put together and indexed they can become very costly. This session looks at the journey a hacker could take to build a data-dump search-engine, that is fast, efficient and plentiful in results. It is so much more than just passwords, its a peak behind the curtain of what is really waiting for us in the next few years.

You’ll walk away from this session knowing what to expect from data-driven hacking attacks, and get an understanding for how dangerous this passive OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) enumeration can actually be.
