Alex is TIPCO’s Head of International Market Development. In this role he is focussing in particular on expanding TIPCO’s international presence. Before joining TIPCO, Alex worked as a Treasury consultant for more than six years. During that time his main focus was on optimising Treasury processes at medium to large multinational clients. Drawing on his experience as a consultant, in his role as project manager, Alex is also responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of TIP.
Andrew has 18 years of banking experience across the corporate client segment and technology, with 13 years in Global Transaction Services (GTS). He is currently the Head of GTS at DBS London, responsible for Trade Finance and Cash Management solutions for European Multinational Corporates. Prior to joining DBS, he has held various roles at HSBC and Citibank, predominantly in product management for Trade Finance and sales for Global Banking & Financial Institutions as well as Cash Management. Andrew also spent five years in Deutsche Bank’s information technology department working as a business analyst and project manager, and started his career at Oracle Corporation in financial applications consultancy. Andrew holds two Masters degrees, one in Finance and another in Technology.

Moving to Financial Services, Clare was Finance Director for RSA’s More Th>n brand for 5 years, followed by Retail experience with Amazon as Head of Finance for the Consumer Electronics Division. In 2016, she joined KFC, the ‘finger lickin’ good’ brand with 880+ restaurants and turnover in excess of £1bn in the UK and Ireland. As Director of Financial Control, her responsibilities include Financial Reporting and Tax, a Transactional Finance Shared Service, Payroll/HR Admin and Asset Protection.
She is currently combining her busy role with training for her 4th marathon!
With nearly 15 years in Finance, Eric Kaplan’s focus on cash management spans senior positions at GE Capital and PepsiCo, and most recently at Columbia University, where he established financial controls and policies as Director, Global Cash Management and Treasury Operations. For GE Capital he developed and executed structured transactions, including mid-term and long-term inter-company financing, mutli-billion dollar cash repositioning, and acquisitions and divestitures. He also identified and implemented improvements at PepsiCo in cash management, banking structure, foreign exchange trades, inter-company mobilizations, cross border payments, acquisitions, and bank services. He holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Connecticut.
Frank Rust is in charge of Bucher group’s centralized financial risk management. Since Bucher is a worldwide operating manufacturer of niche market machinery and systems managing the foreign exchange exposures is the most challenging task of group treasury. He is also responsible for the inter-company financing, the cash and liquidity management and the group’s external funding.Prior to joining Bucher in 2010 he was heading treasury and trading businesses in the Swiss banking industry for more than six years. Frank Rust started his career as trader of interest rate derivatives in Frankfurt, Germany and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cologne, Germany.
Hubert Rappold is managing director at TIPCO. He has more than 17 years of experience in IT and treasury consulting. His main focus is on managing the functional and technological development of the Treasury Information Platform with a view to continually meeting and exceeding client expectations. In addition, Hubert is in charge of advancing cooperations with TMS providers and increasing TIPCO’s international footprint.
James is ING’s Chief International Economist. He focuses on developed market economies, concentrating mainly on the US and the UK. He has been with ING for 19 years during which time he and his team have won several awards for forecasting. James regularly markets ING’s economic views to clients around the world and is frequently quoted in the global media. He is a graduate of Durham University.
Jas joined Mission Excellence in 2012 and is Head of Teambuilding Programmes. He has worked with clients in the UK, Europe and Asia and is a renowned keynote speaker on building high-performance cultures.
Jas’ first career was as an RAF fighter pilot and he took part in both training and operational deployments all over the world. In 1999 he was selected to join the Red Arrows for 3 years, before being selected to return to the Red Arrows in 2007 as Team Leader. He led the team on tours to the USA, the Middle East, and Malaysia, in addition to the regular European schedule and amassed over 500 public displays.
Jas also undertook a number of appointments within the Ministry of Defence, advising senior military officers and civil servants on strategic and operational matters, and deployed to Afghanistan as a campaign planner. He is a graduate of the Australian Advanced Command and Staff College.
Jessica McDarren started her accounting career straight from secondary school when she joined a small Chartered Accounting firm in Ayrshire, Scotland as Trainee Accountant. She immediately realised that accountancy was to be her future. She moved on to larger organisations while continuing with her accountancy studies. In 2005 Jessica joined a rapidly growing digital media agency as Financial Controller. This was a part-time role as she now had a young toddler to care for as well as her CIMA studies to progress.
In March 2009 Jessica became a fully qualified CIMA member following four years of weekend and evening study and was promoted to the full-time role of Head of Finance. It was at this time that Jessica was awarded Young Accountant of the Year by Accountancy Age. The judges said “[she] made the role her own while showing great tenacity and determination to achieve many things at once”.
In 2010 Jessica joined L’Oréal as Commercial Controller. After two and half successful years in this role Jessica decided to broaden her knowledge of the business and joined Corporate Finance as Treasurer for L’Oréal UK and Ireland, featuring in Treasury Today in 2014. More recently, Jessica was promoted to Commercial Operations Finance Director for the Consumer Products Division where she specialises in retailer and channel strategy.
Following a Mathematics degree at the University of Bristol Karen completed her CIMA and AMCT qualification within the Treasury team at BUPA where she stayed for eight years before moving to the Treasury Finance team at Nationwide Building Society. She was at Nationwide for five years where she supported the Treasury Division during the financial crisis including a period as Head of Treasury Finance and was involved in setting up the securitisation and Covered Bonds programme and regulatory reporting.
A move back to corporate Treasury then followed with 3 years as Treasury Controller for TUI Travel’s UK&I business (Thomson and First Choice holidays) followed by interim treasury system roles at Thomas Cook and Anglian Water.
Her current role of Group Treasurer at Domino’s Pizza Group brings together the experiences gained from larger teams whilst being actively involved in the day to day running of an agile international growth business.
Jill is a Fellow of both the ICAEW and ACT, with 16 years’ experience within multinational businesses. Jill is Group Treasury Manager at Whitbread, a FTSE 50 business best known for its Costa and Premier Inn brands. Her role involves all aspects of treasury including cash management, group funding and investment, risk, compliance and managing relationships with the group’s lenders including its syndicate of nine banks. Prior to this, Jill spent three years in San Francisco, providing treasury and tax consultancy services to WANdisco, an early stage software business with solutions addressing the big data market. She has also worked in the tax and treasury functions of Grainger (the UK’s largest listed residential property company) and The Sage Group (FTSE 100 listed software business) following qualification as a Chartered accountant with Deloitte.
Malcolm Pape is the Europe, Middle East and Africa CFO at Experian plc, where he leads a large finance function spread across 15 countries, partnering the businesses to drive premium profitable growth. A qualified Management Accountant (ACMA), Malcolm has over 15 year experience in Finance and Operational roles, spanning Outsourcing, Technology and Data Services companies.
Malcolm is a mathematician and economist, studied at Loughborough University and a keen sportsman. Applying rigorous analytical thinking, a competitive mind set and a high performing team ethos, he has specialised in turning around difficult, ailing and problem child businesses.
When not traveling Malcolm lives in Bristol with his wife and three children.
Richard Scase is a leading Author, Entrepreneur, and Business Forecaster. He is a leading authority on global trends – incorporating how political, social and economic ‘risk factors’ will shape the future business environment. Professor Scase was recently voted one of the Top Ten most influential people in Britain on personnel/human resource management issues by Personnel Today magazine. In addition, he is a former winner of the prestigious European Business Speaker of the Year Award.
Professor Scase is the author of over 24 books, including Britain in 2010: The Changing Business Landscape, which painted such a vivid picture of the future that it influenced a swathe of UK government policy, as well as being critically acclaimed worldwide. He has also written extensively on how to stimulate entrepreneurialism in large organisations; manage creativity; motivate and lead; and leverage corporate intelligence. In his most recent work, Global Remix; The Fight for Competitive Advantage he explores the impact of incipient global trends – technological, economic, demographic, cultural, political, and social – on both businesses and individuals. His latest book (2014) presents findings on his research on entrepreneurship in China and how this will impact upon the future global environment.
As an entrepreneur, Professor Scase has co-founded and sold two successful media businesses: a major radio station serving the south-east of England, and an on-line provider of learning materials for corporate management development programmes.
As an academic, his research interests range from organisational change and entrepreneurship to the impact of Internet technologies and the restructuring of work and employment worldwide. He has a geographical breadth of experience ranging from his duties as Emeritus Professor of Organisational Change at the University of Kent and visiting professorships at the University of London, Beijing University, Auckland (New Zealand), and Monash University (Australia).
Professor Scase is a contributor of feature articles to newspapers, professional magazines and programmes on radio and television. He has written regular columns for Business Voice (the official monthly publication of the CBI) and the Observer newspaper. Furthermore, he has been commissioned to write policy-focused, official reports for government and other statutory bodies. Rick Lacaille, Executive Vice President is Global Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of State Street Global Advisors and a member of the firm’s Executive Management Group. In his role as Chief Investment Officer Rick has responsibility for all investment management activity at SSGA, including research and trading.
Prior to his current role, Rick was Head of Global Active Equities, and previously European CIO. Before joining SSGA in 2000, he held a wide variety of posts in quantitative fund management and research at Gartmore Investment Management, including periods as Head of Quantitative Research and Head of Structured Equities. Rick has a BSc (Hons) in Operational Research from Lancaster University and MSc in Econometrics from London Guildhall University.

Across her 14 years at Whitbread she has been promoted from key operational business partnering finance roles focussing on challenge and delivery of targets, to more strategic roles streamlining planning processes, driving capital allocation decisions and adding value through clear insights. Whilst qualifying as a Management Accountant, she worked in the pricing and treasury functions at Volkswagen Financial Service (UK) before moving to Scottish & Newcastle Retail as a Finance Manager for three years.
Simon has 6 years of experience in client facing functions within Private Banking and 11 years within Corporate Banking covering Large Multinational Corporates. He has been with Fides since September 2014 and is Head of the Client Relations and Marketing Team at Fides. Main responsible for North America, APAC as well as for Key Clients in Switzerland and for our various Partnerships with major players in the TMS and ERP market. Simon holds besides a comprehensive banking background a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from HWZ, University of Applied Sciences Zurich, Switzerland.
Tim is a well-rounded finance professional with a track record of defining & implementing effective strategies, engaging teams and delivering transformational change. He has experience in multinational organizations, supported by excellent capabilities in cross functional / cultural cooperation and communication. As a young and dynamic senior executive he challenges and redefines the status quo. He has been very successful in several different industries and able to effectively act at different levels of the organization to stimulate a value driven culture.
He is currently responsible for a team of 15 Fte that run the Strategic Finance & Treasury activities at the Port of Rotterdam Group, these include but are not limited to Business Control, Governance and Management of subsidiaries, Investment & Portfolio Management, as well as the following Treasury functions: Payments & Cash management, Liquidity management, Corporate Finance, Investor Relations & Financial Risk Management. He is also an executive Director for Blocklab BV, the Rotterdam Blockchain Fieldlab, where he stimulates the use of Blockchain technology in the Logistical & Energy sector.
Will is a Vice President, Portfolio Strategist at State Street Global Advisors. He is a member of the Global Cash and Global Fixed Income Investment Management Teams. Will is responsible for the communication of cash and fixed income investment strategy and performance to clients, consultants and prospects. He covers multiple sectors and vehicles, including both active and indexed fixed income.
Prior to joining SSGA in 2014, Will spent time on both the advisory and brokerage side of the business. Most recently he was part of Royal Bank of Scotland’s Institutional Fixed Income Sales team and Merrill Lynch’s Institutional Money Market Sales Team. Prior to Merrill Lynch will worked as a Money Market Portfolio Manager and Fixed Income Trader for Columbia Management and Fleet Investment Advisors.
Will received his BA from Roanoke College and has his Series 7 and 63 Securities License.
Winny graduated from the University of Cambridge with an MPhil Distinction in Management Studies. She started her finance career with professional accountancy firms, including Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, where she completed her ACA training. This provided valuable experience, leading Winny to working for the Global Media Enterprise, Viacom, where she travelled extensively, accumulating further expertise whilst working in different business environments and cultural settings.
Almost twelve years ago, Winny joined the fast growing pharmaceuticals company PPD, where she contributed to the significant growth of the company. She took on further professional training with ACT and helped PPD set up its current global treasury function. PPD is now a leading global contract research organization providing comprehensive, integrated drug development, laboratory and life cycle management services. PPD has 20,000 employees and operates in 100 + countries.
